Last updated: 15 October 2026

Who we are

JDIB - Private Intelligence Bureau (“JDIB”, “we”) is an independent private detective agency based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit jdib.org, send us an enquiry, or engage us for a case. We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law.

What we collect

When you enquire: your name, contact number, location, client type, the service you are interested in, a short description of your concern, your preferred contact method and any consultation date or time you share.

During a case: the information and documents you provide, information about the subject of the case that is relevant to the agreed scope, and records of our communication with you.

On the website: our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operation. Fonts and other files are served from our own website.

How enquiries reach us

The enquiry form does not send your details to our server. It prepares a message that opens in WhatsApp, where you review it and choose whether to send it. Messages sent through WhatsApp are also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

Analytics and cookies

With your consent, we may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are visited and whether contact buttons are used. Analytics cookies are set only if you choose “Accept”, and you can choose “Decline”. We do not send your name, contact details or enquiry text to Google Analytics. Google's use of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Why we use your data

  • To respond to your enquiry and assess whether we can help.
  • To prepare a scope and quotation, and to carry out a case you have agreed to.
  • To keep records needed for accounting, legal and dispute-resolution purposes.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Information about other people

Some cases involve information about another person. We collect and use such information only within the agreed scope, only for a lawful purpose, and only through lawful means. We work only through lawful means. We do not hack accounts, tap phones, obtain call records, place tracking devices or read private messages. Anyone who offers that is breaking the law, and so would the client.

Who we share it with

We keep your information confidential. We share it only with the investigators working on your case, including trusted partner investigators for assignments outside Bengaluru, who are bound by confidentiality; with your consent; or where required by law or a lawful order of a court or authority.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not proceed are deleted within 90 days. Case records are kept only as long as needed for the purpose they were collected for and to meet legal, tax or dispute-resolution requirements, then deleted or anonymised.

How we protect it

We use reasonable security safeguards, including restricted access to case information and encrypted email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data against misuse or unauthorised access.

Your rights

You may ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or update it, or ask us to erase it where we no longer need to keep it. You may withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing already carried out. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

Children

We do not knowingly accept enquiries from anyone under 18. Cases concerning a minor are accepted only from a parent or lawful guardian and only for a lawful purpose.
